No two authors are alike; some know exactly what they want their book to look like, while others appreciate a bit more direction. Either way, we work with you to provide whatever services you need to produce your desired outcome.
Our Process
You have completed your manuscript, proofed it, had others do a “beta read,” and made any corrections necessary. Before you submit your manuscript to Foster Design, we will send you our complimentary submission guide. Though not mandatory, our free tool will show you how to format your manuscript in a way that will make the transition into our layout software the most efficient and least costly for you.
Once we’ve received your submission, we will review it, create a suggested production timeline, and submit a quotation for the project. After your acceptance, we’re on to the fun stuff!

COPYEDITING
Fix or Finesse it.
Copyediting is vital for every book. No matter how much time you’ve spent re-reading and proofing it, you’re likely to miss some things. A copy editor will check for clarity, consistency, spelling, grammar, and other errors, helping you to avoid embarrassing mistakes.
Foster Design can provide you with professional editing services or, if you have a preferred editor, we are happy to work with them.
DESIGN
Style it.
Once editing is complete, we move to the design phase. The way you present your story can make all the difference. We work with you to develop the look and feel of your new book, picking the overall size, appropriate font, paper choice and color, type of bindery, etc. All these details are crucially important and enhance both visual impressions and reading enjoyment.
Our commitment to you is to provide the perfect design that is clear and to the point, consistent in style and tone, and coherent in organization.
